Commissioned by the Durham based early music summer school NORVIS. Scored for soprano, tenor, treble recorder, bass viol and harpsichord and based on ’Jubilate Agno’, the long and eccentric poem written in about 1760 by Christopher mart. ‘Innumerable Angels’ is in a single continuous movement made up of short contrasting sections shaped by the text, in the style of a 16^thcentury madrigal or motet.
