Mixed Ensembles for Schools

String teachers across the UK and beyond will have to look no further to find suitable music for string teaching in schools!  Composed and arranged by string teachers, Rondo Publishing is very proud to have such a good educational resource available.  Little Suite by Paul Sudlow is a tried and tested collection of pieces for young string players (Grades 1-2).  Quartets by Jacqui Robertson-Wade was reviewed in News and Views, Summer 2007. Kay Tucker writes enthusiastically : “They provide lots of challenges for all players with articulation, dynamics, shifting, balance and style and are sympathetically arranged and very good value for the price.”

My First Tudor Consort Book for Three Violins and Cello is a resource for young players of wide ranging ability.  Successfully used in schools to include the recorder version with strings.  Jane Gregory, in a review of 2007, writes: “The pieces are enjoyable and not only fun in their own right, but also a useful way of teaching pupils about Renaissance music and encouraging improvisation.”

Rondo’s commitment to encouraging cello ensemble music right from the start continues with the publication of music suitable from Grade 1 with Little Suite by Paul Sudlow, and Quartets and Bass Delights, both by Jacqui Robertson-Wade.  Kay Tucker writes about Bass Delights in News and Views, 2007: “This collection of tunes from the Tudor era has been thoughtfully arranged with an eye to allowing cellists of mixed ability play together.  There is much to recommend this publication. The pieces progress in difficulty and are nicely varied in both style and mood.  Well worth the asking price!”
